Prayer Partners

“Life’s gotten a little tough lately. I could really use some extra prayers…”

Prayer Partners can help. Have your intensions lifted up in prayer throughout the community. As a prayer chain that operates via both telephone and e-mail, the Prayer Partners reach throughout the community to lift people up in prayer. Prayer Partners was founded in 1999 and now receives requests not only from the local community, but also from across the country! Invoke the power of prayer in your own life! The Healing Mass

“I could use some healing in my life right now. Is there someone who can pray with me?”

The Healing Mass provides an opportunity for all people to come together and pray together in the context of the Eucharistic celebration. It is open to all people who are seeking some sort of physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual healing, and to those who wish to pray with them. One’s level of involvement at the Healing Mass is completely personal. At times, following the liturgy, the sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick may be celebrated, or individuals may ask for a group to pray over them. However, all are equally welcome to either participate in these rituals, or, if they wish, to simply attend the Mass. For more information Brian Kinzie at 480.948.7460 Ext.127.

Pastoral Ministry to The Sick and Homebound

“I’m homebound and can’t get out anymore, but it sure would be nice to still receive communion…”

Pastoral Ministry to the Sick and Homebound is a way for those physically unable to come to Mass to share in Holy Communion. Pastoral Ministers are sent forth from the worshipping community to take the Body of Christ, both in sacrament and community, to those who would otherwise be unable to join us. Most times, a brief Communion Service is celebrated with the individual, including scripture, time for prayer and reflection, and reception of communion. The Pastoral Minister may also stay for a short while to visit more casually. If you or someone you know would benefit from this ministry, please contact Richard Sederstrom at 480.941.4742 to arrange for visitation.

Ministry of Consolation

“I feel so lost and alone now that my loved one is gone…”

The Ministry of Consolation is there to help individuals continue on in life following the death of a loved one. Beginning in Spring 2005, Consolation Ministers will journey with those grieving as they pass certain milestones or cope with various “firsts.” They will also assist the grieving person look after their own well-being. But perhaps most importantly, Ministers will provide a vital link to the community, offering its love, prayers, and support, and help the bereaved to know that they are not, in fact, alone or abandoned. If you or someone you know is struggling with the loss of a loved one, please contact Norbert Zwickl at 480.948.7460 Ext.126.

Counseling & Support Group

“Are there other people I can talk to that are going through this, too?”

Support Groups here at the Casa bring together people struggling with the same issues and let them work through them with the help of state licensed, professional counselors. Each Support Group is on-going and open all who wish to join at any time. Visit our Counseling & Support Groups page or Contact Judith McHale, at 480.948.7460 Ext.134.

Grief Retreat

“It’s still hard dealing with my loved one being gone. I need to get away and work things through for a bit…”

The Casa's Grief Retreat is a way to do just that. The retreat team provides a supportive setting for anyone grieving the death of a loved one. Over the course of the weekend, the professional counselors will share information about the grief process, as well as suggest ways to heal during the intense and painful period following such as a loss. Look for current dates in our calendar or our most recent catalog.
