The Conventual Church of Our Lady of the Angels at the Franciscan Renewal Center is a Roman Catholic Church led by the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor in cooperation with The Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix.

Sick & Homebound Ministry.
The care and feeding of our community is essential and a form of healing that is filled with grace. If you are ill or otherwise unable to come to the Casa for Mass and would like the opportunity to pray with someone and receive Eucharist, please call the Guest Services Desk at 480.948.7460. A member of our Pastoral Ministry team will contact you to arrange a visit.
Prayer.
Eucharistic Adoration is held in the church on the first Friday of each month from 6 – 7 pm.

Taizé Prayer Around the Cross is held in the church the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at 7 pm and livestreamed on youtube.com/thecasafrc. Taizé prayer consists of meditative singing, Scripture readings, and periods of silence in order to reach a contemplative state. This style of prayer emerged from an ecumenical community in Taizé, France. Short chants, repeated over and over, give a meditative character. Using just a few words, the chants express a basic reality of faith, quickly grasped by the mind. As the words are sung many times, this reality gradually penetrates the whole being. All are welcome to come and join in this contemplative prayer. This service lasts approximately 35 minutes.
Prayer Requests: Casa Prayer Partners is a prayer chain of community members and friends that operates via telephone and email to lift up people through the grace of community love. Prayer Partners was founded in 1999 and welcomes prayer requests from across the country. Please email your prayer request to casaprayerpartners@thecasa.org.

Fr. Page Polk, OFM
Rector​

Fr. Page Polk, OFM was born and reared in Dallas, TX, and has a background in education, psychology, guidance, and counseling. Before entering the Franciscan Order, he taught children with special educational needs. He holds a B S. degree from East Texas State University and has advanced degrees from the University of Northern Colorado and East Texas State University. He also holds an M. Div degree from The Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, IL.

He has served as the Director of the Catholic Chaplain Corps for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston and as the Director of Vocations for the Franciscan Province of St. John the Baptist. He was part of an Inter-Provincial team of three friars asked by the seven U.S. Provincial Ministers to research the process for revitalizing and restructuring Franciscan life in the United States.

As rector of Our Lady of the Angels Church, Fr. Page collaborates in the planning and execution of liturgical celebrations and provides pastoral care to the community. He also collaborates with the FRC staff responsible for the Adult and Children’s Catechesis programs and Faith Formation programs and provides support for Sustainability and Endowment endeavors. Fr. Page also leads Franciscan pilgrimages to the Holy Land.
Fr. Vincent Nguyen, OFM comes from a family with eight siblings. His father was a political prisoner for seven years after the fall of Saigon. Because of this, his whole family was allowed to take a political refuge in 1994 to the U.S.A., where his family settled in the city of Huntington Beach, California.

He joined the Franciscan Province of Saint Barbara in 2003 and made solemn profession in 2009. He was assigned to the Casa in 2013 for a year to have a pastoral experience and to learn the program of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at Thunderbird hospital. He was ordained at Sts. Simon & Jude parish in Huntington Beach, CA in 2017, where he served before his assignment at the Casa.

Father Vincent is known as a “funny priest” for his great sense of humor, especially when he delivers his homily. He created the San Damiano Crucifix in the Our Lady of the Angels Church and has a great love of priestly ministry and liturgy.
Fr. James Seiffert, OFM
Vice-Rector​

Fr. James Seiffert, OFM was born in New York City in 1958. He comes from a family of five, with his parents and one sister, and one brother. He loved geography in school, had an early interest in world travel, and even took the name Christopher for confirmation as the patron saint of travelers. He worked for United Airlines for twenty-two years in reservation and sales. He took early retirement from the airline to do some volunteer work as a Covenant member for the Franciscan Province of St Barbara in 2010. After discerning the call to religious life as a Franciscan brother, he entered postulancy in 2012 in Portland, Oregon, and later entered the novitiate in 2013 in Burlington, Wisconsin, making his first temporary vows in 2014.
Fr. James’ formation included serving the homeless in San Francisco, elder care of friars, retreat and cemetery ministry, mission immersion experience in Vietnam, and theological studies at the Franciscan School of Theology. Fr. James made his solemn profession of vows on August 31, 2019. After completing the Ministry of Divinity degree, he was assigned to the Casa for his pastoral year in preparation for ordination to the priesthood. He was ordained to the transitional diaconate on Saturday, March 26, 2022, by Bishop Mark Bartosic at St Peter’s Church in Chicago and ordained to the priesthood on Friday, May 12, 2023 by Bishop John P. Dolan at Our Lady of the Angels Church at the Franciscan Renewal Center, Scottsdale, Arizona. While Fr. James enjoys travel and discovering new places and people, he very much likes living in Arizona with its beautiful desert landscape and the warm hospitality that is shared with the Casa community.
