Thousands of people from a wide variety of spiritual traditions have found themselves drawn to the mysterious and prayerful images found in the icons of Eastern Christianity. In this workshop participants will experience step-by-step instructions to start and complete an icon. This December the class will be doing a Coptic style image of the flight into Egypt, a very nice icon for Christmas. No experience necessary. All materials* will be provided. Class limited to 28.
Retreat fee including Monday dinner and Tuesday through Sunday lunch $520; with lodging and all meals $795 single, $685 double/per person
*An additional $75 materials fee must be paid directly to instructor at the start of class.
Class times: Monday, 7 pm; Tuesday through Saturday, 10 am-4 pm; Sunday, noon-4 pm.
Check-in Monday 5 pm; dinner at 6 pm; class at 7 pm.
Peter Pearson, M Div, graduated magna cum laude from St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Wisconsin. He studied under Russian iconographer Dr. Nina Bouroff; Philip Zimmerman at the Damascus Academy of Sacred Arts; Nicholas Papas and other noted iconographers.
