Rosary of the Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Saturday, November 5, 9 am-4 pm
"Very informative. I liked the mixture of spirituality and art." (2011 class participant)
The Rosary is the fulcrum of Catholic prayer and faith, yet many still ask, what is the Rosary? When did it come to be and why? The Rosary of the Seven Joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary is treasured by the Franciscan order and is an ancient sacramental dating back to 1422.
This workshop will explore the history of the Rosary and the chaplet known as the Franciscan Crown. You will design your own Franciscan beads or bracelet, have them blessed by a friar, if you choose to, and take home your beautiful work of art.
Fee per person: $65. Materials fee for beads, medals and other items: $30, payable to the instructor day of program.
Arasely Rios, a local artist, was introduced to the art of making rosaries when she was 8 years old and has been designing unique heirloom rosaries since 2001.
