Pilgrimage To Rome and Assisi

In a world that questions values and demands so much time and effort, the search for new meaning in life is often a dream put on hold. This journey sponsored by Franciscan Pilgrimage Programs, provides a new dimension to the experience of God through the lives of Sts. Francis and Clare of Assisi.
The pilgrimage begins "at home" in Assisi where we spend nine days being immersed in the Franciscan story through places such as San Damiano, the Porziuncola, the Carceri, Chiesa Nuova and the Basilicas of Sts. Francis and Clare. From Assisi we visit LaVerna where Francis received the stigmata of Jesus Christ. On the way to Rome we pass through the Rieti Valley and stop at Greccio, the place where Francis acted out the Christmas drama. It was in Rome, the heart of the Catholic Church, that the dreams of Francis and Clare were confirmed, impact-ing the entire world. We will visit St. Peter’s Basilica, enjoy a Papal Audience, visit St. John Lateran and other sites that relate to the Franciscan heritage.
