Supporting Franciscan Renewal Center Priorities

The Franciscan Renewal Center relies on your generosity to support our operations, capital growth and endowments.

Supporting the Operations

The Franciscan Renewal Center relies on private support to remain actively involved in the life of our community on a day-to-day basis. Funding from direct liturgical offerings, fees from sponsored classes, workshops and retreats, counseling donations, fees from hosted events, a small distribution from the endowment funds, and four planned fundraising events each year help to sustain our operational and short-term capital or building needs.

Our vision looks forward to face the funding priorities and realities of the Franciscan Renewal Center. We intend to remain a viable center for peace and conduit for the Holy Spirit to work through participants. Based on our history, we continue to serve individuals throughout the local and national community who seek us for their spiritual and developmental needs.

Our programs and liturgical ministries begin implementation of the Called to Love strategy to involve our current community, those detached Catholics or those seeking God. These programs will bring new individuals to the Casa for programs and events.

Supporting the Physical Growth or Improvements to the Casa

Over the next several years, we intend to continue our growth in reaching out to local and national non-profit organizations as a gathering and meeting place. During our fiscal year ended August 31, 2006, the Casa hosted over 230 nonprofit groups with over 13,900 guests whose mission supported and fulfilled the mission of the Casa. From meetings here at the Casa, these individuals return to their local neighborhoods or communities with a greater understanding of purpose and tools to enhance and achieve the mission of their non-profit entity. As non-profit growth continues its escalation*, the Casa must be poised to continue our ability to offer a place of peace for these meetings to assist in the advancement of the missions of these groups.

Based on the statistics of the IRS Form 990 submissions:

We are now at the time to "Renew the Renewal Center". Some of our buildings are over 60 years old from the original purchase in 1951. Our most recent buildings are over 20 years old and are now showing wear and age. We have recently completed an overall site inspection by a third party contractor to identify needs for building longevity, security and safety. Further, our internal facilities group has reviewed the property for needs such as refurbishments and aesthetics. Finally, we have thoroughly reviewed our program evaluations for items requiring modifications for comfort for our guests.

Next, in our stages of renewal, we look at the needs of our worship community. In its initial phase, this process will be on going over the next few years. This will encompass the overall needs of the campus and our guest and community members to sustain our exceptional level of service.
