Almsgiving is more than giving—it is an act of faith.

As part of our Catholic call to almsgiving, we are invited to share our blessings with people in greatest need, especially during this sacred Season of Lent. Our Lady of the Angels Church offers three meaningful ways to give:

Answer Christ's Call to Give This Lent

  • Honor Their Service—Support Veteran Scholarships
Veterans have given much in service to our country, often carrying both visible and invisible wounds. The Casa Veterans Ministry provides a welcoming space for service members, veterans, and their families to find healing, faith, and community. Through retreats and workshops, they experience spiritual renewal and strength. Veteran Scholarships ensure that cost never prevents them from receiving the healing they deserve.

  • Extend God’s Mercy—Support the Casa Emergency Response Fund
Every day, individuals and families in crisis turn to the Casa for immediate assistance. Whether facing homelessness, hunger, or financial distress, they find compassionate care through the Casa Emergency Response Fund. Rooted in the Gospel call to love our neighbors, this fund provides temporary aid such as food cards, gas cards, and emergency assistance to those in urgent need.

  • Share a Meal, Share God’s Love—Support St. Mary’s Food Bank
During our Simple Soup meals, we reflect on Jesus’ example of being bread for and with others. By supporting St. Mary’s Food Bank, you help provide food for struggling families, children, and seniors. Your generosity ensures no one in our community goes hungry.

Return your Lenten Almsgiving envelope the weekend of April 12 - 13.

Almsgiving is more than giving—it is an act of faith. This Lent, let us be Christ’s hands and heart in the world, bringing relief, hope, and renewal to those in need. Give today and make a difference.
